Get historical market data

BarionQuant Desktop trains on history that already lives on your PC. Use this page as an index of how to get that history — not as a data warehouse.

We do not host or redistribute OHLC packs on this page. Starter ZIPs stay on the download page only.

Where to download (external sites)

Open these sites yourself, save the files, then import in Desktop. Full URLs are listed when a public download page exists — maintained in CMS.

  • FX
  • Gold
    • Dukascopy (Desktop Online) — No separate download site for our flow. Pull XAUUSD in Desktop Get market data → Online. Starter gold ZIP is on the download page. HistData is not a gold path in Desktop.
  • Silver
    • Dukascopy (not in Desktop yet) — Dukascopy publishes XAGUSD on its public feed, but BarionQuant Desktop does not list silver yet. Nothing to import in-app until the symbol is wired.
  • Crypto

Fastest start

Three small starter packs (EURUSD, XAUUSD, BTCUSDT) are listed on the download page. Import them in Desktop, then open Training.

In Desktop · Get market data

Open Get market data (or Data Center). Five tabs:

  1. Online (Dukascopy) — Pull FX and metals samples over the network into the local catalog. Good default when the feed is up.
  2. HistData — FX month packs only (not gold). In-app one-click download is unavailable after the site stopped issuing download tokens. Download the ASCII M1 month ZIP in your browser, then use Select ZIP / drop the file here: open HistData.com
  3. MetaTrader — Read local MT4 .hst history already on this machine. Nothing is uploaded.
  4. File — Import your own CSV or FT/MetaStock text. Keep time in UTC when you can.
  5. Binance USDⓈ-M — Pull major crypto month history for local replay (entitlements apply). Month ZIPs also live here: open data.binance.vision

Outside the app, then import

Same external sites as above — steps once you already have (or just downloaded) files:

  • HistData.com — Pick platform (ASCII / MetaTrader / tick), pair, year, month. Save the ZIP. ASCII M1 often imports directly; MT or tick files go through the formatter first. HistData free download · HistData CSV formatter
  • Binance public data — Month ZIPs from data.binance.vision (or exchange export). Clean with the Binance formatter, then File or the Binance tab. data.binance.vision · Binance CSV formatter
  • MT4 / MT5 export — Export history from the terminal, or point Desktop at existing .hst. Prefer the MetaTrader tab for .hst; use File for CSV exports.
  • Dukascopy via Desktop — No separate website pack required — use the Online tab inside Get market data.

By market

  • FX majors — Online (Dukascopy), HistData month ZIP + Select ZIP, MT .hst, or your CSV. HistData.com download
  • Gold (XAUUSD) — Not on HistData. Use Online (Dukascopy), File, or the gold starter on the download page — there is no HistData gold ZIP for Desktop.
  • Silver (XAGUSD) — Dukascopy publishes silver on its public feed, but Desktop does not list XAGUSD yet. No in-app import until the symbol is wired.
  • Crypto majors — Binance USDⓈ-M tab, Vision month ZIPs + formatter, or File. Starter BTCUSDT pack is on the download page. data.binance.vision
