Forex Tester’s archive is not a method

A long tick file is a library. A sitting with the next bar hidden is a test.
Direct answer
Forex Tester is the right buy when you need a long, official-looking tick archive and a tester that already speaks that archive. BarionQuant Desktop is the right buy when you need a random 90–180 day window, a hidden name and calendar, and a score on the written rules. Those are different products. I do not claim we replaced their file.
The column page that already holds the matrix is Forex Tester vs BarionQuant. This blog post is the one question that page does not open with: does a tick archive grade the sitting?
What their public page is selling

Their public copy sells history, tester quality, and a desktop workflow built around that history. If you need that archive, start there. We do not ship that file.
What our compare page actually lists

Three rows I will not blur:
- They have the long archive. We do not.
- We hide the symbol and the calendar until you end the sitting. That is the method test.
- Both are Windows desks. Neither is a broker.
How I backtest without picking the start is already written: How to backtest without hindsight bias.
What we do
I download the Windows build. I start a blind session on EURUSD (free after sign-in). I score the checklist. I do not grade the paper balance. Standard is $15/mo or $150/yr; Pro is $29/mo or $290/yr. No Mac. No 20-year tick pack. If that pack is the job, stay on Forex Tester.
Who should skip
Skip this page if you already know you need their archive. Skip it if you wanted a new /compare/fx-replay landing — that URL does not exist; the FX Replay question is a later blog. Skip it if you need a live quote feed from us. We do not sell one.
FAQ
Can I use both?
Yes. Archive on their desk. Blind sitting on ours. Do not mix the grades.
Do you import their tick file?
No. Do not wait for that import. It is not on the seat.
Is this a ranking?
No. It is a split: file vs sitting.
Next step
Read the compare page, then download the Windows build if the sitting is the job.
