Count gold pip value before you replay

Pip counts can differ by ten. Align the dollar distance first.
Direct answer
Search gold pip value and convert the three labels into dollars first. The teaching contract on this page is XAUUSD at 100 oz per lot. A $1 price move is about $100 per standard lot.
All three labels sit on the gold pip-value calculator:
| 1 pip label | Price step | Per pip, standard lot |
|---|---|---|
| 0.01 | $0.01 | about $1 |
| 0.10 (page default) | $0.10 | about $10 |
| 1.00 | $1.00 | about $100 |
The same $10 price stop on 1 standard lot loses about $1,000. Counted as 0.01 that is 1,000 pips. Counted as 0.10 that is 100 pips. Counted as 1.00 that is 10 pips. Some brokers call $0.10 a pip. Some call $0.01 a pip. After you switch labels, a sentence like “stop 50 pips” can move the lot by an order of magnitude.
The three pip labels do not change. The four system lines live on The first London hour is the stop. This page still only counts pip value. It does not write a London buy/sell zone.
How to judge
Three checks before the product pitch.
Is the contract 100 oz? This page is. Your broker spec is your contract. Numbers on the page are educational estimates. They do not pull a live quote.
Is the stop written as a dollar distance first? Pip counts alone will size the wrong lot after a label switch. The position-size calculator uses risk money and the stop to get quantity.
Did anyone say the forex rule also applies to gold? No. The forex example is still the EURUSD sitting. Gold’s four lines are copied only from the London first-hour sitting. The size lesson is still Size and stop are one decision.
How we sit
Open the pip-value page with the symbol locked to XAUUSD, account USD, lots 1. Default label 0.10. Switch the label to 0.01 and 1.00. Watch the dollars per pip change, then watch whether the same entry and exit still print the same P/L dollars. The page also has entry, exit, and side. That is arithmetic, not a live call.
The Desktop Free seat lists XAUUSD H1 and daily samples. The public sitting is the London first-hour record, not the sample list itself.
Windows. Free $0. Standard $15/mo or $150/yr. Pro $29/mo or $290/yr. Not a broker.
Who should skip
If you wanted the four gold-system lines, go to the London first-hour sitting. This page only counts pip value.
If you wanted today’s London/New York buy/sell zone, skip. This site does not call trades.
If you wanted to treat the page’s $10/pip as your broker spec, skip. Match the contract first.

FAQ
Why is the default 0.10?
It matches the instrument table on this site. Common teaching pages also call $0.10 one pip. That is not the only label, so the page gives the other two.
Is there a public gold sitting?
Yes. The dated XAUUSD record is The first London hour is the stop. This article still only clears pip value.
Is spread in the number?
No. This page does not count your broker spread. When the stop is a dollar distance, add spread on the side that would be wrong.
