Not a broker: training-tool boundaries

Training software on your machine. Not a venue, not a wallet, not advice.

Why this matters

If you came here from a screenshot of candles, it is reasonable to ask whether BarionQuant is “another broker.” It is not. The homepage chips say Not a broker. The hero says subscription unlocks the simulator. Footer legal links — Terms, Privacy, Risk — exist because the product is educational software, not a market venue.

A broker opens an account, holds or arranges money, and sends orders to a liquidity venue. BarionQuant does none of that. You download a Desktop build, keep market data locally, and run Training sessions. A paid seat is a license to use more of that software and to open the deeper handbook chapters. It is not an account funded with cash for FX.

We state this early because later articles talk about size, stops, and excuses. Those words are practice constraints. They are not instructions to place a live order.

Boundaries / Checklist

Print this list or keep it next to Pricing.

  1. What you buy: a Desktop subscription seat (Free / Standard / Pro) or a redeem code. The handbook is included with the seat. There is no separate knowledge SKU.
  2. What you do not send us: deposits, wallet top-ups, or “margin.” If a checkout page asks you to fund a trading account, you are not on BarionQuant’s product path.
  3. What lives on the machine: historical series you import or download as samples, plus your sessions, notes, and layouts.
  4. What the site is for: Download, Pricing, Learn, Blog, account, and legal. Learn is the structured handbook. Blog is news and opinion.
  5. What Training tickets are: simulator actions inside a session. They are not broker tickets.
  6. What we do not claim: that replay results predict live results, or that a plan tier is a prop firm challenge.
  7. Where to read the legal line: /en/legal/terms, /en/legal/privacy, /en/legal/risk.
  8. Where to ask a product question: [email protected] — support for software, not trade ideas.

If any of those eight points is fuzzy after you read Pricing, do not subscribe until it is clear. Confusion here is more expensive than a delayed install.

W0. Same homepage as the previous lesson. The sentence “Subscription unlocks the simulator — we are not a broker” is the customer-facing contract. Use it as a filter for every later claim.

W2. Pricing lists Free / Standard / Pro seats. Look for the handbook perk — subscription includes the replay handbook — not a second “academy” checkout. If you only need public lessons, you can stay on Learn without a paid plan.

Common mistakes

  • Equating “I clicked New Order in Training” with “I have a live position.” You do not.
  • Expecting BarionQuant to show a deposit address or IBAN for trading funds. We will not.
  • Treating Blog commentary as a substitute for the handbook. Blog is not the curriculum.
  • Assuming Pro is a signal channel. Pro unlocks deeper handbook chapters and software time — not picks.
  • Skipping the Risk legal page because “it’s only software.” Software still has a risk disclosure. Read it.

Next in the handbook

Educational training content only. BarionQuant is not a broker and does not provide investment advice. Past practice results do not predict future outcomes.
