The first swing high is the line

The first swing high is the line — first-swing-high-is-the-line__S-cover.png

The rule was written before Start. The first later bar through that swing ended the sitting.

Direct answer

This is one finished Training sitting on BarionQuant Desktop 0.1.4. BTCUSDT, H1, File/csv sample. Session dates 2025-01-01 → 2025-12-31 UTC.

Before any Step I wrote the invalidation: the outer edge of the first completed three-bar swing. A swing high is a bar whose high is above both neighbors. A swing low is a bar whose low is below both neighbors. The first of those two that confirms is the line.

The first completed swing was the 03:00 high 93,856.76, confirmed when 04:00 closed. The first later bar through that line was 2025-01-01 12:00, high 93,915.00. File → End Training. No ticket. Size stayed 0.1.

The notes this sitting follows are already public: Write where you are wrong first and Replay rubric. This page is the record, not a second copy of those notes.

The sitting ended on that 12:00 bar. The desk picture is that stop bar. Thirteen candles sit on the left. The catalog for that File/csv H1 row listed 8760 bars. The sitting did not walk the rest of the year.

Where the data came from

Desktop 0.1.4, signed in, Status Ready. Data Center, BTCUSDT H1, source File/csv. Catalog row 2025-01-01 → 2025-12-31, 8760 H1 bars, quality skipped 0.

The equity bar showed PRO. The tape is still the File/csv BTCUSDT H1 sample. Free can run this sitting. Windows. Not Mac. Not a browser replay.

This tape is not the EURUSD H1 Free week used in the first sitting. That week had already been stepped to 06:00.

The rule, copied before Start

I wrote these three sentences before the first Step.

1. Size stays 0.1. Do not change it. Do not open Trade → New Order. Do not open Indicators. 2. Invalidation is the outer edge of the first completed three-bar swing after training starts. A swing high is a bar whose high is above both neighbors. A swing low is a bar whose low is below both neighbors. The first of those two that confirms is the line. 3. The first later bar that trades through that line ends the sitting.

Size for this sitting: 0.1, the account default. I did not change it. I did not open Indicators. I did not open Trade → New Order.

What happened

Five bars to confirm the first swing. Then later bars until the first punch.

Bar 2 was not a swing high (high 93,743.51 below bar 3) and not a swing low (low 93,585.45 above bar 1). Bar 4 high 93,856.76 stood above both neighbors when bar 5 closed. Bar 4 was not a swing low. That high is the line.

The 12:00 hour traded through 93,856.76. High 93,915.00. That is the stop-out the rule named. I left the line where it was written. I ended Training.

Session complete: Trades 0, result +0.00. There was no ticket to close. The stop is the bar, not a broker stop on an order. The complete dialog also said 12 bars covered. The status bar at End read 13 bars.

The workspace already showed MACD(12, 26, 9). I did not open the Indicators menu to put it there, and I did not read it as a signal for this sitting. The red SELL and green BUY numbers on the quote strip are the spread. They are not a filled order.

Went well: wrote the swing-outer rule before Start. First swing high 93,856.76 on 03:00. Size stayed 0.1. No New Order.

Mistakes: batched steps after the line was set, then stepped back. First punch was 12:00 high 93,915.00. The line was not moved.

Next plan: keep this swing-outer rule on the next unread Free tape. Step one bar at a time after the line is set.

When this sitting does not count

It does not count if later bars stay inside that swing for the whole seven-day window. It does not count if size changes mid-sitting. It does not count if the line is moved after a later bar has already traded through it. It does not count if the right side of the tape was visible before the first Step. It does not count if Trade → New Order was opened.

None of those happened here. A stop on the first later bar through the swing is still a sitting.

This page does not tell you to walk the file yourself. There is no attached .bqproj. This sitting is not a 150-day Blind session.

Who should skip

Skip this page if you wanted a live stop distance in dollars, or a lot that survives a prop contract.

Skip it if you wanted a winning sitting, or a file you can double-click.

Skip it if you have not read Write where you are wrong first and the rubric. The swing rule and the three boxes live there.

The first public sitting used a different rule on a different tape: The first H1 range is the stop.

Next step

Download the Windows build. Pull a File/csv H1 sample you have not already stepped. Write the first completed swing’s outer edge before you look for a punch.
