Prop Firm Challenge Risk & Drawdown Calculator
Estimate the daily loss buffer, overall floor, lot size, and a ruin sketch from the percentages you enter. Presets are starting points for FTMO, FundedNext, Funding Pips, and Topstep.
Size the trade against the daily buffer
On the default $100,000 preset, a 5% daily limit is $5,000. At the default 1% risk ($1,000), two losses use 40% of that daily buffer. Change the percentages and the buffer changes with them.
Balance-Based vs Equity-Based Daily Drawdown
Equity-or-balance mode uses the day-reference figure you type. If that figure includes floating profit, a pullback can use up the daily buffer before a trade is closed. Balance-only mode uses the day-start balance you type and does not move when floating profit changes.
